About the SSF secondary programme

Southwark's local education partnership (LEP) will deliver the following

  • 13 sites, 12 schools, two pupil referral units
  • One academy, five mainstream schools, four special schools
  • Three schools will have a private finance initiative (PFI) contract
  • Rearranging special education needs provision across the borough
  • Two new schools to meet additional demand from Southwark's regeneration programme
  • Nine new builds, four refurbishments, approximately 75 per cent of value is in new build
  • ICT and facilities management (FM) services

We delivered our strategic business case in June 2006, for approval in July 2006.
Treasury has approved our outline business case (OBC) and our notice will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union in August 2007. We now have the challenge of taking the project through procurement.

We want a local education partnership that is flexible, innovative and can work with us to deliver an exciting education transformation agenda.

We have the support of stakeholders within the council and across the borough.

Our statutory consultation is well underway, with the academies approved and final decisions on special schools to be made in September.

We know what we mean by education transformation and we know how we are going to achieve this.

Would you like to work with us?

We have information here, please see the left hand menu,  to help you make an informed choice about working with Southwark. We look forward to working with our future partners.
