Pupil Behaviour and Attendance There are four priority areas around pupil behaviour, which we work hard with schools to manage.
Behaviour and detention
Your child's school should have a written policy setting out rules about behaviour and detention.
Bullying
Bullying is unacceptable. If your child is being bullied at school, the school should have policies and procedures in place to support you.
Attendance and truancy
Regular school attendance is an important part of giving your child the best possible start in life. Dealing with attendance and truancy is a priority in Southwark.
Children missing from education
Children who are missing from education for a varitey of reasons are a major concern. We have a team dedicated to helping these children get back into school and ensuring they succeed.
Exclusions
Excluding a child from school for a fixed period or permanently is always a last resort for schools. Schools must follow a strict process for exclusions.
