Starting your Teaching Career

There are a number of ways you can apply for work as a newly qualified teacher (NQT)

Applying online

If you are a newly qualified teacher, you can complete our The following link opens in a new windowonline application form for teaching vacancies at Southwark schools.

By uploading your details, head teachers will be able to view your skills and experience and will contact you if a suitable vacancy arises. If you are successful at interview, you will be offered an appointment by the school governing body.

There is no closing date for applications; however, you are advised to apply in the early months of the year, as there have not been enough vacancies for all applicants in recent years.
