Personal Advisers

connexions logoConnexions is a service which offers young people access to personal advisers who will help you with a range of issues such as

  • Any personal problems you might have 
  • Access to specialist support services and counselling, for example, related to drugs or sexual health
  • Advice and information on employment, training, further education, volunteering, community projects, the arts, sports and other local activities

There are personal advisers available over the phone and via email, at a number of Southwark schools and colleges well as at the locations below:

Services for 13 to 19 year olds, and for those aged up to 24 years for people with special needs. This main centre offers advice on areas such as

  • Sixth-form choices
  • Benefits
  • Housing
  • Drugs
  • Sexual health

Appointments are not necessary but can be arranged during the following times
Monday and Friday 9.30am to 5pm
Tuesday and Thursday 9.30am to 7pm
Wednesday 11.30am to 5pm

Information and advice on employment, training, health, housing and benefits. Counselling is offered for young people aged between 13 and 25 years. 

The first stop shop is the base for the Millennium Volunteers scheme, which offers a chance to learn skills such as working in the music industry or on a magazine. 

Once a week, lesbian/gay/bi-sexual/transgender young people meet at the facINsouth session.
