Part of the government's strategy for improving results for children and young people, as set out in Every Child Matters, is investment in social care.
Training to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
The common core of skills and knowledge for the children’s workforce sets out the basic required knowledge and skills for everyone working with children and parents. Every agency should provide training in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children that meets the specific needs of their workforce.
For advice on writing your training plan contact the Southwark Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) training officer jane.bowden@southwark.gov.uk or call 020 7525 3913.
To find out more about your agency's training, contact your training officer or follow the links below to the main agencies.
