National consultations

The Department for children, schools and families (DfES) has a number of open consultations.  Read about current consultations on the e-consultation pages.

Vetting and Barring

The consultation on Barring: Implementing the Safegaurding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and the Northern Ireland Order 2007 has now closed.  This act will have major implications for service providers for children and vulnerable adults, including the voluntary and faith sector.  For details on the consultation and results, visit the consultation's webpages.
