Child and Adolescent Mental HealthWe look after children and young people with emotional and behavioural problems and those suffering depression, self-harm, hyperactivity, school-related problems, psychosis, trauma and the impact of abuse.
We work together with colleagues from the South London and Maudsley Mental Health Trust in teams that include social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, child mental health nurses, specialist child mental health practitioners, child and family psychotherapists and occupational therapists.
Our work is divided into two age groups
- Children under 12 will be seen by teams based at the Lister Primary Care Centre in Peckham Road
- Children aged between 12 and 18 will be seen by the adolescent team at the Bloomfield Clinic at Guy's Hospital
Our work also includes supporting other colleagues within Southwark Health and Social Care and we have specialist groups involved with intensive parenting training, victims of child sexual abuse and our Bridging the Gap project to help young people in community settings such as children’s homes and youth centres.
