Surrey Docks Watersports Centre

Leisure revitalise 08-09

Page updated: November 13 2008

For over 20 years the Surrey Docks Watersports centre has trained thousands of people in all types of watersports. From its Investing in Leisure programme Southwark Council has allocated £2.3 million to the complete refurbishment of the facilities.

Commenting on the investment Councillor Lewis Robinson, Executive Member for Culture Leisure and Sports said: “Investment in Surrey Docks Watersports Centre is a cornerstone of Southwark’s Olympic Vision. We aim to build on the achievements of Team GB in Beijing and create a venue which will inspire and train people of all ages and abilities in water sports, from participation to excellence, in the lead up to 2012 and beyond.”
