Playing safe

When you join a sports club, make sure it's safe and reputable.

Make sure the club can say yes to the following questions

Are the coaches suitably qualified and have they had a recent police check?
Do they have accident recording and reporting procedures?
Do they have clear procedures regarding the care of young players whilst at club sessions, including when children arrive and leave the premises?
Is there access to a first aid kit and a telephone on the premises?
Does the club have adequate insurance?
Is the club registered with its sports governing body and has it agreed to abide by their child protection procedures and codes of conduct?
