Southwark Community Games

Southwark Community Games logo

The Southwark Community Games is a year round programme of sports coaching and competition for young people aged seven to 16 years old.

There is also sport related vocational training for teachers and young people aged 16 years and older. It takes place across the eight community council areas in schools, after school clubs, estate and community settings.

A new structure has been put in place to improve the quality and capacity of the programme. This has included the appointment of ten new full time community sports coaches. The community sports coaches work in dedicated areas of the borough, based on the community council areas. The delivery of coaching consists of school based work, the after school programme and coaching on community venues or housing estates.

Winter of Sport 2008

A free multi sports programme for eight to 16 year olds begins on November 3 2008 and runs until December 18 2008. If you want to take part in these sessions just turn up to the listed venue to join in the fun.
