Learning and development opportunities
Free learning and development for the private, independent and voluntary sector providing social care to vulnerable adults in Southwark.
If you are employed or volunteer in a social care organisation in Southwark, free or subsidised learning and development opportunities may be available to you. You should be eligible if you provide a social care service to vulnerable adults in need of social care.
Courses range from leadership and management skills, to multi-agency training around safeguarding and help developing your volunteer base. Because of the wide range of specialist training available, please check your eligibility. We recommend everyone attends Southwark Safeguarding adults training.
These learning and development opportunities are free for all groups based in Southwark working in social care: their management committees, workers and volunteers.

Southwark Safeguarding Adults
Multi-agency safeguarding adults training courses aim to prevent vulnerable adult abuse. They should be attended by anyone who is in contact with, or who works with, vulnerable adults in Southwark, including care workers and day centre staff, both paid and voluntary.

Mental Health learning and development opportunities
These opportunities are free to the voluntary sector and are multiagency. There is a range of training, for workers who support adults with mental health issues.

Drug and alcohol and crime and disorder
Southwark Partnership is Southwark’s combined statutory crime and disorder reduction partnership (CDRP) and drug and alcohol action team (DAAT). They bring together a range of statutory and voluntary sector services to work together to reduce crime, fear of crime, anti social behaviour and substance misuse in the borough.

Aims to improve health and reduce health inequalities by working in close partnership with NHS, statutory and voluntary sectors to provide health promotion professional development expertise and support.
