We work with many different organisations and services in Southwark that help people with learning disabilities and thier carers.  This is a list of some of them. Please note that we are not responsible for the content of other websites.

Learning disabilities housing support service

Our learning disabilities housing support service has been set up to help people with learning disabilities make the right choice about the kind of home that they want to live in and the support that they can access in order to stay there. Southwark sports development

Southwark sports development produces a sports and leisure directory for disabled people in Southwark that describes many of the sports and leisure activities that are available for people with disabilities. Bede House logo

Bede House is a community based charity that offers a number of different opportunities for people in Bermondsy, Rotherhithe and Southwark. Visit the Bede House website.

Cambridge House logo

Cambridge House has a number of different services for adults with learning disabilities. Cambridge House Advocacy Team provides independent advocacy for adults with learning disabilities living in Southwark. Only Connect Play and Respite Care Services is for children and young people aged 5 to 19 years with severe learning disabilities. 19 Plus is a life skills service for young adults with learning disabilities who are aged between 19 to 26 years. Queens Road Day Centre offers day services and activities for people with learning disabilities, as well as a range of off-site activities. It also provides an outreach service to people with learning disabilities who live independently in the community. To find out more, contact

Travel Services

Freedom Pass

If you have a learning disability you may be eligible to get a Freedom Pass (Disabled Travel Permit) to use on public transport. For more information call Disabilties Services on 020 7525 2141/2306, or visit our help with transport pages.

Disabled person's Blue Badge parking permitA person with a high level of disability may be eligible to obtain a Blue Badge which allows them to park in special places close to shops and other facilities, or outside their house.  For more information call disabilties services on 020 7525 2141/2306, or visit our blue Badge webpage.

congestion charge logo

A person with a blue badge can claim an exemption from the London congestion charge.  For more information go to the congestion charge website.
