SAPB Conference 2008
 On November 6 2008 the Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board held its annual stakeholders' conference.
The conference
The purpose of the conference was to examine and to explain safeguarding adults working practices in relation to human rights.
The conference reviewed and celebrated the achievements of Southwark Safeguarding Adults Partnership over the past year. There were a number of informative and interesting presentations which encompassed diverse operational, service user and strategic perspectives.
The proceedings included hte showing of two engaging and thought provoking short films which addressed the importance of keeping safe and dignity in care. There was also an important discussion about safeguarding adults training requirements and training targets.

Annual report
The safeguarding adults annual report 2007 - 2008 was presented at the conference.
The conference was concluded by Councillor David Noakes (Executive Member Health and Adult Care) who launched the preventative winter campaign: 'Don't turn your back on abuse'.
