Young Carers Project

Carer PosterThis is a project for children and young people who have a caring responsibility at home, due to the health needs of someone they live with.

If you are caring for someone with an illness or a disability, whether you live with them or not, you are a carer.

The project provides services to ensure that young carers have access to the same opportunities and experiences that other children take for granted.

How can the Young Carers Projects help?

A young person between the ages of eight and 18 years can take part, without charge, in the social activities that run throughout the year:

  • Weekends away and occasional longer holidays
  • Advocacy and information
  • Befriending
  • Outreach

Opening times and access

  • Social activities run throughout the year but are usually concentrated in the school holiday periods
