Organisations that Help with Transport

There are local and national organisations that can help with transport needs. Follow the links to find out more. You can find out more about transport accessibility on the Transport for London website.

Lambeth and Southwark Community Transport (LASCOT)

LASCOT provide a low cost use of minibuses for the benefit of community groups and people living in Southwark. They also offer personal transport, shopping trips, Luton van hire and more.

Dial a Ride

Dial-a-Ride is a door to door service for disabled people who can't use buses, trains or the Tube. It can be used for all sorts of journeys, making it easier to go shopping, visit friends and attend doctor's appointments.

Personal transport

The Motability scheme helps disabled people to obtain a car, powered wheelchair or scooter by using their government-funded mobility allowances. Motability also provides grants for driving lessons and can help with adapting cars.

Rail card

The national railcard website has information on the different rail cards available, including the young persons, family, senior and disabled persons railcard.

Taxi card

The London TaxiCard Scheme provides subsidised door-to-door transport for people who have serious mobility impairment and difficulty in using public transport. Taxicard holders make journeys in licensed London taxis.

Travel Assistance Scheme

The Travel Assistance Scheme aims to give disabled Londoners the information and confidence they need to make more use of public transport. They offer advice on planning a journey using an accessible route and can provide someone to come with you for the first few times you use a low floor bus, accessible tube route or overground train service.
