Despite its proximity to central London, South Bermondsey is a deprived neighbourhood. Some of the reasons for this include low household income, high rates of benefit claimants, poor health (particularly amongst men), and anti-social behaviour.

The South Bermondsey Partnership has a development plan that has been drawn up to look at the ways in which it can influence and improve services. The development plan will be available shortly.
What area does the South Bermondsey Partnership cover?
The Partnership covers the South Bermondsey ward and the northern part of the Livesey ward. This area is known as the South Bermondsey and North Livesey Priority Neighbourhood.
How is the South Bermondsey Partnership funded?
The South Bermondsey Partnership is funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government through the Southwark Alliance (the Local Strategic Partnership for Southwark).
Who is represented on the South Bermondsey Partnership?
The South Bermondsey Partnership Board is made up of residents, local service providers, faith groups and statutory organisations. In total there are 20 board members, seven of whom are local residents.
