Meet the teams

The Heygate Rehousing Project has been set up to rehouse people leaving the Heygate Estate. They are taking a new approach to make sure residents are looked after in their homes, but also to ensure that residents are supported throughout the rehousing process. The project has two main teams. A case management team and an estate management team.

Support for residents

The case management team has been set up to support residents as they prepare to move off the estate. They provide assistance in bidding for properties on Southwark Homesearch as well as supporting tenants throughout the moving process. The team also provides support for vulnerable residents by linking them into other council services and helps families settle into their new homes and communities.

Safety first

The estate management team work hard to ensure that the Heygate remains a safe and secure environment for residents as more and more people move off the esate. The team minimise the opportunity for squatting and anti-social behaviour and ensure that the Heygate has a high visibility of community wardens and police community support officers. This community safety approach is ensuring that existing Heygate residents remain safe.
