Bermondsey Square Southwark Council and  Igloo Regeneration Partnership are working together to redevelop Bermondsey Square.
The new vision for the site has taken into consideration recent important archaeological finds at the square.
The redevelopment is now in full swing, with plans for
- A community focused 60 seat cinema
- Boutique hotel
- Offices and retail units
- Residential properties including affordable housing
- Restaurants
- All based around a communal square
The new public square will be large enough for 200 market stalls and will provide toilet and refreshment facilities for antiques traders and their clients.
The rich history of the area will be marked through the commissioning of public artwork for the main square.
The Antiques Market continues to trade on site during development and it will be complimented by other markets, including food, fashion, arts, crafts and other community based activity as part of the regeneration, all breathing new life into this enigmatic central London location.
