Radio Peckham Radio Peckham is a vibrant community radio station, established in partnership with Eclectic Productions, the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and Groundwork Southwark.
A huge variety of shows are being made by the people of Peckham, Nunhead and surrounding areas, with topics ranging from
- Community issues
- Arts
- New music
- Entertainment
Our shows are broadcast online to serve the local community and promote the area to people all over Southwark & beyond, as well as providing a platform for over 80 local community groups.
So far we have trained over 150 local residents in radio production and broadcasting techniques. Some of these trainees have gone on to form our core team of volunteer
- Presenters
- Researchers
- Producers
and we are still training more adults and young people in radio skills.
Our shows include
- Community Focus - centered on important local issues such as an exclusive interview with Damilola Taylor’s father following his killers' sentencing
- Community Council - giving local residents the chance to speak out about local issues being raised at Community Council meetings.
- Music - showcasing local talent like DJ Inkast and musician Andy Hankdog
- Regulars - like Haynes & Payne’s and Mixmatch who are still going strong with a topical mix of comedy, music and chat.
In 2007 Radio Peckham is looking to expand our existing audience to focus on the whole of Southwark.
We are also aiming to do a major summer training programme and hope to lead up to another month long FM broadcast in the autumn.
