Library of the month

Kingswood library

Following our most recent survey in November 2009, 92 percent of users thought that Kingswood library was a good or very good library. Come along during March and discover for yourself Kingswood's great mix of friendly staff, fascinating location and exciting events. Highlights for March 2010 include:

  • Babies and toddlers session
    As well as our ever popular songs and rhymes, there will also be a book review every week during the babies and toddlers session! Parents and carers will also have an opportunity to share ideas and discuss their favourite stories with each other.
    Every Monday in March, 10.30am to 12pm. Suitable for ages 0 to 5. 

  • Homework help clubs
    This is a chance for children to get the support they need with books and other learning resources from our dedicated staff.
    Every Tuesday 3.30pm to 6pm. For ages 6 to 16.

  • Craft sessions
    Come along and be creative at our craft sessions every Saturday afternoon, 3pm to 4pm. This is a brilliant and fun way to try your hand at something new each week. For ages 7 to 13.

  • IT taster sessions
    Internet sessions with our trained Skills for Life officers, who offer support in learning valuable ICT skills. To discuss your needs and to make an appointment please contact Alfie Ezinwa on 020 7525 6227.

  • Family History
    Are you keen to know who your ancestors could be? Come along to our family history starter session on Thursday 11 March 2010, 10.30am to 2pm and find out how to begin your exciting journey.

  • Wii games
    Calling all gamers. Children are invited to come along and play Nintendo Wii on Friday 12 March 2010, 3pm to 6pm in the billiard room.

  • Surestart Children’s Centre
    Dionne and Trevor will be hosting a Baby Rhyme time special on Thursday 18 March 2010, 11am to 12pm filled with lots of singing and dancing in the library.

  • Tea and coffee morning
    Would you like to know more about what your library offers and what it can be to you? Come and join us at our coffee morning to talk to staff, ask us questions and let us know what you think of your library. Thursday 25 March 2010, from 10.30am.

  • Manga film show
    Love your Manga and want to meet other fans? Come along to our Manga film show on Friday 26 March 2010, 3pm to 6pm and find new friends in a fun environment.
