Housing Strategy and Related Documents

Southwark Council and the recently formed Southwark Housing Strategic Partnership are currently developing a new housing strategy which covers all tenures. The housing strategy consultation page has details about this consultation process.

In 2005 the council developed a housing strategy that outlines the council's overall plans for housing in the borough from 2005 to 2010. It covers private and public housing, as well as the housing services the council provides. In 2007/08 the council published a monitoring update of the housing strategy.

  All local authorities have to submit this form annually. It contains data on housing stock, homelessness, lettings and housing investment.

• The homelessness review 2008/09 (pdf 126 kb)
  The Government said that Local authorities need to review their homelessness strategies by July 2008. The Homelessness Strategy is incorporated in the Housing Strategy 2005 to 2010. The sections on homelessness were reviewed focusing on identified gaps, emerging issues or trends and any issues arising out of the equalities impact assessment of homelessness and temporary accommodation services.
