Information for Owner Occupiers Improving the quality of homes and neighbourhoods is a key priority in the council's Housing Strategy. We are working to improve the quality of homes in all tenures.
Many owner occupied households are living in run down housing. The council is particularly concerned where households are vulnerable or on low incomes. Therefore, we provide a range of services to help people improve their housing. We are trying to improve the energy efficiency of all homes. Inefficient homes are damaging to the environment but can also increase poverty in the borough.
