Services for LeaseholdersSouthwark Council's housing department works closely with leaseholders. The council has recently introduced improvements to the leaseholders' council which will give members far more access to the decision making process.
Each of the borough's areas now has its own representative elected to sit on the board. The board includes other leaseholder representatives, councillors and housing officers.
The leasehold management office has a public area and staff will be able to deal with any visitors without the need for appointments. There is a private interviewing facility that can be used. Off street parking is available.
The leasehold management unit has recently undergone reorganisation and the services offered have been expanded to include the following
- Right to buy applications - from the application stage through to referring acceptances to the legal services division
- Service charges - setting up accounts following sales, adjustments to accounts and refunds
- Income Recovery - both service charge and major works (section 20) recovery
