However, the council has a duty to protect public funds and we may need to check your information with other information we hold. We may also exchange information with other agencies, councils, government departments or bodies administering public funds to

Sharing information with my landlord
We are limited as to the information we can disclose, if any, to your landlord. However, sharing information with your landlord can help us deal with your claim more quickly. For example, we may wish to confirm the tenancy start date.
If you would like us to share information with them you must provide us with written authorisation.
You can do this is one of the following ways
Once we have this we will be able to discuss your claim for housing benefit with your landlord but we will not discuss your personal or financial circumstances.
Sharing information with a third party
We cannot disclose information to a third party without your written authorisation (for example a solicitor or social worker). If you would like us to share information with them you must provide us with written authorisation.
