Sexual HarassmentSexual harassment is any unwelcome behaviour that is linked to your gender or sexual orientation. The European Union (EU) definition of sexual harassment is “unwanted conduct of a sexual nature or other conduct based on sex affecting the dignity of men and women at work”. You have a right not to be sexually harassed while at work.
If you think that you are being sexually harassed, you should wherever possible
- Tell the harasser that their behaviour is unwelcome and that you want it to stop
- Record the details eg time, date, description of what happened, witnesses
- Report the harasser to your employer or trade union official
- Seek advice from a solicitor
