Rotherhithe By-Election

Wilma Veronica Nelson was elected as a councillor for the Rotherhithe ward on October 9 2008.

The results are

• Morrison, Loanna - Conservative - 255 votes
• Nelson, Wilma Veronica - Liberal Democrat - 1,149 votes
• Whittam, Kath - Labour - 618 votes

Ballot papers counted: 2,037 (15 rejected). Turnout was 23.8 per cent.

The by-election was prompted by the death of Anne Yates (Liberal Democrat).
