Southwark Anti-Homophobic Forum

The Southwark Anti-Homophobic Forum is the longest established lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual (LGBT) forum of its kind. The forum was established in 1995 and acts as an advisory body to the local council, the police and other relevant agencies on matters concerning LGBT hate crimes, housing and education. The forum meets at Southwark Town Hall every two months.

Schools Out

Schools Out provides a support network for all LGBT people in education, undertakes research and campaigns on LGBT issues as they affect education and those in education. Schools Out also provides training for schools, information on legislation and teaching packs.

Stonewall

Stonewall was established in 1989 as a professional lobbying organisation. Their role has since expanded to include policy development, cultural and attitude change, lobbying for legal change and providing advice on good practice.

The Queer Youth Alliance is a national non-profit making organisation that is run by and for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) young people. It aims to represent the needs and views of LGBT young people through campaigning for greater visibility and equal rights, as well as providing general support and information to those who are just 'coming out' or who are suffering the effects of homophobia.

Pink Parents

Pink Parents aims to offer support and guidance in relation to LGBT parenting issues, including those who are children, partners, parents or friends of LGBT parents. It also acts to raise awareness of diversity and challenge discrimination and hostility, with particular reference to LGBT families.

Southwark Police LGBT liaison officer

Southwark Police have a full-time LGBT liaison officer to assist lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people living, working or visiting Southwark. Abuse because of someone's sexual orientation or gender identity is hate crime. If you have been verbally or physically abused, harassed or attacked in any way by someone because they think you are a lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans please help yourself and the community by reporting these crimes.

Bede House same sex domestic violence service

The Bede House same sex domestic violence service offers free, confidential and non-judgemental advice in a safe and friendly environment. The service provides information and advice on safety, housing, legal matters, immigration, benefits and other practical matters. Advice is given over the phone or in person.

The Southwark SWOP project is based at Victim Support Southwark to support victims of hate crimes due to sexual orientation, faith, race or disability, where the harassment is experienced within or around a person's home. The project offers longer-term advocacy and support to victims, with a focus on housing needs.
