The Southwark Alliance

The Southwark Alliance was formed in 2001 as the local strategic partnership (LSP) for the borough. It exists to develop a shared vision for the future of the borough, and plan more responsive, effective public services. It does this by bringing together the main public, private and voluntary sector agencies.
Its board members are the most senior decision makers in the borough, and include representatives from Southwark Council, Southwark Primary Care Trust, the Metropolitan Police, Jobcentre Plus and a number of other statutory and voluntary agencies.
What we do
The Alliance is particularly concerned with promoting long term improvements to the area and reducing deprivation. Much of our work is delivered through our partners.
While the Alliance does not provide services, it influences the organisations that do. It develops new ways of working and provides a forum where new ideas and initiatives can be tested.
It is responsible for developing and agreeing the Sustainable Community Strategy, Southwark 2016, and developing and implementing a local area agreement.
