Voluntary and Community Sector SupportIf you are a group looking for funding from a range of sources including the government or lottery, trusts and many more organisations, visit our Southwark funding website.
Southwark Council recognises that the voluntary and community sector has an essential role in helping to achieve our objectives.
This partnership gives local communities a real voice in decision-making and service design and delivery. Pooling skills, knowledge and resources helps local service planning and provision to be more sensitively and effectively delivered. Work of the voluntary and community sectors in the borough is supported by the council's community support unit.
The service objectives of the grant-aid process include:
- To develop a strategic approach to the allocation of grants
- To achieve best value use of the council’s grant resources
- The development of high standards
- Transparency and natural justice in the treatment of voluntary sector applicants
