Councillors
Who is my councillor and what do they do?
Southwark Council has 63 councillors, who represent the 21 wards that make up the borough of Southwark.
The council assembly is the monthly meeting of all 63 elected representatives, and is chaired by the Mayor of Southwark.
The council has an executive which works in a similar way to the government's cabinet. Southwark's executive is made up of ten councillors who each hold a special 'portfolio' of responsibility. Find out more about the executive.
The executive is headed by a leader, in a similar way to the cabinet being headed by the Prime Minister - our leader is Councillor Nick Stanton.
