Health and Adult Care Scrutiny Sub-CommitteeWhat the sub-committee does
The health and adult care scrutiny sub-committee examines health and adult social care services being provided by the council, the NHS or other agencies in Southwark. It can review any topic within these areas, for example past reviews include the modernisation of day care services and access to GPs. It can also review proposals for major changes to NHS services.
The sub-committee also questions the executive member for health and adult care about how services are being improved.
The sub-committee has worked jointly with other boroughs to review issues which affect Southwark and other areas.
Recommendations made by the sub-committee during a review will be looked at by the overview and scrutiny committee before being considered by the executive or other appropriate agency. See more about the scrutiny process.
Sub-committee members
Reserve members are Councillors Anood Al-Samerai, Denise Capstick and Nicholas Vineall.
Health and adult care scrutiny sub-committee meetings are held approximately six times a year. See upcoming meetings and view meeting papers.
