Executive Member for Health and Adult CareCouncillor Noakes's portfolio is to improve the health of the borough and to safeguard the needs of vulnerable adults, including health promotion, the provision of personal social services, services to older people, services to people with disabilities, services to those with HIV or aids and those with drug and alcohol problems, services to those with mental health needs, 'supporting people', homelessness and sheltered housing.
He works closely with the executive members for children (with regard to children’s health) and the deputy leader (with regard to the housing needs of vulnerable adults).
He has particular responsibility for
- The public health agenda, including issues and actions arising from the Our Health, Our Care, Our Say White Paper
- Further integration of health and social care and trust status
- Influencing the development of new community health and social care services including those being developed in the new Dulwich Community Hospital
