Nunhead and Peckham Rye the Place SE15 today is well known for Rye Lane with rice, spice, fruit and vegetables from all over the world. Each December we run the Flavas food festival to celebrate our wealth of cuisine and the variety of fresh produce on offer locally.
The area is seen as an increasingly trendy and fashionable place to live, particularly following positive publicity surrounding the Bellenden Renewal programme with its artwork from Anthony Gormley, Zandra Rhodes and others.
Peckham Programme hosts the Creative Industries Group, a network of local artists, agencies and organisations working with the arts to ensure a diverse and inclusive cultural input into local regeneration and town centre management.

Nunhead also has an arts week, a special shopping day and is part of the week long I Love Peckham festival in August.
Each year I Love Peckham culminates in a weekend of live performance with theatre, music and dance. In 2007 Peckham had its first literary festival. This was particularly timely as Sally Butcher who keeps the local Persian shop won the 2007 Sunday Times Cookbook of the Year with her first book, Persia in Peckham.
