Bermondsey

Bermondsey is the place to be. Bordered by the River Thames to the North, Southwark Park to the East and Burgess Park down South, Bermondsey has a bit of something for everyone.

  • Thriving business parks that attract manufacturing, distribution and IT-related companies alike as well as new and creative industries
  • A great mix of shopping facilities from the local shops at the Blue marketplace on Southwark Park Road and Jamaica Road, to the full range of large scale retail outlets on the Old Kent Road
  • Bermondsey Street boasts the Fashion and Textile Museum founded by Zandra Rhodes, as well as bars, restaurants, and avant-guarde clothes shops
  • Fantastic youth facilities including the Salmon Centre – now one of the largest schemes in England with strong links to the local community

    Have your say in the decision making process through the Bermondsey Community Council.

    Find out what is going on around South Bermondsey the South Bermondsey Partnership. The SBP is a Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder set up to help improve services for local people covering the South Bermondsey ward and the northern part of the Livesey ward in Rotherhithe.

    Get information about groups that are active in the area through the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Development Partnership - a network of over 40 voluntary and community sector organisations with activities in the Rotherhithe and Bermondsey area. The network provides support and development for small and large groups.

    If you live or work around Bermondsey Street, you may want to get in touch with the Bermondsey Street Area Partnership (BSAP). This an independent and non-political voluntary group which aim is to positively promote the interests of all sectors of the community, both business and residential, and to support the traditional mixed-use character of the area.
