Phone or Touch-Tone Automated

You can pay your housing rent, right to buy service charges, business rates (NNDR), council tax, general invoices and parking fines using the council’s 24 hour automated debit or credit card telephone payment line on 0845 600 0611. Phone calls to the automated telephone line are charged at the local rate.

You will be offered the following choices

Option 1 - General invoices

General invoices beginning with invoice number 1000. You will need to quote your 11 digit invoice number to use this option. You can also pay housing benefit overpayments here, these invoice numbers begin with 7000. 

Option 2 - Housing rent or service charges

You will need to quote your 10 digit housing rent or service charge account number, starting with either the number five or six  for housing rents, or the number three or six for right to buy service charge account, to use this option.

Option 3 - Business rates

You will need to quote your seven or eight digit business rate account number, which begins with the number six, to use this option.

Option 4 - Council tax

You will need to quote your eight digit council tax account number, beginning with a four, to use this option.

Option 5 - Parking fines 

You will need to quote your ten digit PCN number, beginning with SO, to use this option. 
Please note that you will only be able to use this option 24 hours after the PCN has been issued and you will not be given the option of how much to pay, the full outstanding amount must be paid.

The service closes for approximately five minutes at 3pm, Monday to Friday. At this time a file of the payments received in the previous 24 hours is sent to the council’s income system and those payments are processed onto customer accounts overnight. This means that payments made before 3pm on a working day will normally show on a customer’s account the next working day.

Please take note

If you use the touchtone phone, you will NOT get a receipt sent to you. You will be issued with a reference number.  We suggest that you keep a note of this reference number, the date you make payment, the amount and account number in case you need to contact us.
