By Swipe CardYou can pay for certain services through the council’s swipe card payment services. Customers have the facilities to make payments at any post office, PayPoint or PAYzone outlet in the UK. These outlets include shops, supermarkets, stores and garages, which display either a PAYzone or PayPoint logo outside their location.
PayPoint outlets only accept cash payments (up to £124.99 per transaction), while post offices and PAYzone outlets accept cheques, debit cards and cash. PAYzone accepts up to £250 per transaction and post offices accept up to £999.99 per transaction.
Swipe cards
To pay by this method, you must have a swipe card for the specific service you are paying for. Currently these are only available for council tax, housing rent, social services non-residential care services, and housing garage rents.
Payment must be submitted to the retailer with the correct swipe card for each service. All customers will receive a receipt each time a payment is made and customers are advised to retain their receipts as proof of payment. There is no facility for stamping rent cards or bills so it is important that you keep your receipt.
