Ben Bradshaw MP, Minister of State for Health Services, together with children and young people officially opened Sunshine House on June 2 2008. A beautiful plaque was unveiled in the reception area. Children and young people enjoyed entertainment from a magician, a face painter and bouncy castle.

Mee Ling Ng, OBE, Chair, Southwark PCT, says: "Sunshine House reflects Southwark Health and Social Care's commitment to modernising services for children with special needs, disabilities and other vulnerabilities."

Sunshine House architects, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, were presented with a RIBA plaque which is now in the reception area of the building. The RIBA Awards are annual, and have been running continuously since 1966.
