Cllr Caroline Pidgeon, Southwark Council’s executive member for children's services and education, said: “This is a real boost for Southwark parents and those who work with children and young people. They can now call one number to find out the answers to their questions.”
A free service
The family information service can be contacted free on 0800 013 0639 or visit the online family information directory.
Something different for teenagers
The launch of the free advice line for parents follows the launch last week of a website specifically for young people in Southwark.
The Whatever website helps 13 to 19 year olds find out what’s happening in Southwark, and gives them a forum to tell their own stories and showcase their talents and achievements.
