Imagine…. remember, reflect, react
Southwark will remember people affected by the Holocaust on Sunday 27 January 2008 as part of the UK's eighth national Holocaust Memorial Day.
The Worshipful the Mayor, Bob Skelly will hold a service at the Holocaust Memorial Tree in Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park, Imperial War Museum from 10.30am and invites you to join him in remembrance.
This year's theme asks us to remember the past, reflect on the present and react to create a better future.
A wreath laying ceremony will take place after the service at the Soviet Memorial, located a few yards away from the Holocaust Memorial Tree. Ambassadors from the Commonwealth of Independent States, British Veterans, other dignitaries and people from a number of local organisations will be in attendance at this important anniversary.
Light refreshments will be served in the lower boardroom of the Imperial War Museum at the close of the ceremonies.
The Mayor hopes you will be able to attend to mark this important occasion.
