How do you want Southwark to change by 2026?

We want to hear your thoughts and views on how you want the borough to change by 2026.

The council has put out its core strategy document for consultation which sets out its approach to many important issues in Southwark.

This includes how much affordable and private housing will be required in different areas, where the council will continue to protect open spaces and where it will create new open spaces, and also what different places in the borough, such as Elephant and Castle, Bankside, Borough, London Bridge, Peckham, Canada Water, Dulwich and the Aylesbury could be like in the future.

Southwark is a place of fast paced change, with more than 25,000 new residents and thousands of new businesses since 1991. More than 25,000 homes and thousands more businesses are anticipated by 2017.

You can comment on the core strategy until 5pm Thursday 23 July.

We will also be holding a number of public exhibitions across the borough to explain more about the core strategy and what we do with it.

The core strategy can also be viewed at www.southwark.gov.uk/corestrategy and hard copies can be found at the Town Hall, libraries, one stop shops and area housing offices.
