Sports and LeisureThere are many sports and leisure facilities in Southwark catering for all interests and abilities. As well as specialist facilities, there are also general sports centres offering a range of activities. Southwark also hosts major sports events such as the London Women’s Run and part of the London Marathon.

THAMES PATH Access to the path is signposted at many points en route
London Bridge, Bermondsey, Rotherhithe London Bridge P11 The Thames Path is a trail that extends from the river’s source in Gloucestershire to the Thames Barrier in London – a total of 288km. The section in Southwark starts at the Oxo Tower and extends to South Dock Marina in Surrey Quays. You can pick up the trail anywhere en route. Along the way you will pass many famous Southwark landmarks including The Globe, Golden Hinde, Southwark Cathedral, Tower Bridge and the Design Museum.

SURREY DOCKS WATER SPORTS CENTRE Greenland Dock, Rope Street SE16 Tel: 020 7237 4009 Surrey Docks Water Sports Centre offers a range of activities including windsurfing, canoeing and rowing. The centre is situated at the converted Greenland Dock, which was once the largest commercial dock in the world.

Surrey Quays, Bermondsey, Rotherhithe 1 47 188 199 225 381 P13 P14 The Southwark Park Sports Complex has athletic facilities suitable for all track and field events. The seven lane track has been host to top class events and is frequently used by clubs. The track can be used for training when the centre is open. A full-size astroturf football pitch is also available and used for training by Millwall Football Club.
