Our new venue at 151 Walworth Road provides the following
- Full access for wheelchair users via a new ramp on Wansey Street One Stop Shop entrance
- Public toilets, including toilet for wheelchair users
- Hearing loop facilities within the museum and education room
- Baby changing facilities
- Basic audio guide for the museum's two permanent exhibitions
- Large print information
- Information in six of Southwark's languages
The museum also offers
Access to Southwark's collections via a searchable online database
- Access to a previous temporary exhibition
life in the Elephant 1948 and 2005 via an online gallery Catalogues for the exhibition can also be sent. Please phone the museum on 020 7525 2332 to request your copy
- Our collections are exhibited regularly at our sister museum, the Livesey Museum for Children which has ground floor access.
- Some of the Cuming collection can also be viewed at
Saffron Walden Museum in Essex.
- Outreach projects are carried out with diverse groups which have recently included mental health clients and a group from an Age Concern day care centre.
- Education work can be carried out in the classroom on request.
- Art in Class Loan Scheme. Among other schools we are working with Guys Evelina Hospital School.
- We are also able to provide print outs of exhibition text, also in large print on request
