Burial and Cremation Records

Winter scene in Camberwell Old Cemetery The Cemeteries and Crematorium Service have records of burials going back to 1846 and cremations back to 1939. If you're searching for a record of someone who died in Southwark, we may well have a record of when and where they were either buried or cremated.

Using our Search Service

For a £10.00 fee we can search the records for you. Please write to us stating the full name of the person you're searching for and the month and year of death. If you don't have these details we will not be able to undertake the search. Remember to provide us with your name and address so we can contact you when we find the information.

Searching the records yourself

There is no charge for searching the records yourself and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction. All our burial and cremation records are held at our offices in Brenchley Gardens. You don't have to make an appointment but please note that the office is open at 9.00am and closes at 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
