Revealed photoNovember/December 2008: Fundraising

Whilst the summer festival season may seem a long way off, now is the time to start thinking about how much your event will cost and where you are going to raise the funds to pay for it.

This three part course will provide you with a comprehensive overview of all aspects of fundraising.

The first two days will introduce you to the variety of funds available to community groups – including commercial sponsorship, public and community funding, EU grants and awards from trusts and foundations. You will learn to think strategically about your organisation to help you choose the most appropriate type of funding for your event.

The third day will focus on how to develop a good relationship with funders, The courses will be delivered by Wendy Smithers at The Hub - an expert in arts and cultural training; together with guest speakers from organisations such as the Arts Council and PRS foundation. The sessions will be practical and allow for opportunities to network, share experiences, learn from professionals, and develop your own personal projects.

Dates and Location:

All three courses will be held at Southwark College in different locations (see below) from 9.30-5pm. Lunch will be included.

  • Wednesday November 12 - Camberwell
  • Thursday November 20 - Waterloo
  • Wednesday December 3 - Bermondsey

All workshops are free subject to a returnable deposit of £10.00 to secure your place.
This is a three day programme and you are asked to attend all sessions.
