Black History Month

Dr Harold MoodyBlack History Month 2008

Black History Month is fast approaching and Southwark have developed, along with local community groups and individuals, a programme full of events throughout October and beyond.

The theme for Black History Month 2008 is: The journey - past, present future

Black History Month will start with a launch event at the Damilola Taylor centre with a mix of performances, stalls, workshops, speeches, presentations and much more. To close the month's events a Poetry Jam will be held at the Peckham library. But the programme doesn't stop there with events going well in to the following months!

Dance, theatre, film, workshops, walks, talks, exhibitions will work to the theme of The journey - past, present, future.
