The diversity of Southwark's community is one of the borough's most valued assests. Strong communities will thrive and prosper if individuals and groups are treated fairly, with respect, and given equal rights and access to services. Diversity at events is promoted and celebrated. When planning events, you should consider how you get more people involved in the event and who comes to see it. This means you should think about making the event as accessible to as many different people as possible, eg people with physical and mental disabilities, of different ethnicity, gender and age.
For some practical information on how you can make your event accessible to all, download our Planning Events: Access and Interpretation briefing sheet (214 kb)
