Blue Plaque for Manze's Pie and Mash Shop

The Manze's Blue Plaque is unveiled

The Manze's Pie and Mash shop Blue Plaque was unveiled on October 18 2005 during Southwark's first Citizen's Day celebrations.

In a testimony to the ongoing popularity of a traditional London cuisine, the Peckham store received over 4,800 votes to win the blue plaque for the Peckham community council area, making it the most popular nominee ever.

After the unveiling Councillor Graham Neale, residents and a Pearly King and Queen enjoyed pie and mash, now officially a part of Southwark's heritage. For some it was for the first time ever!
