theSeer - A Website Dedicated to the Arts
Calling all Southwark based artists and arts organisations to register onto theSeer, a free online directory and resource for all of London's creative individuals, organisations and venues, to find, receive and promote arts and creative information in London.
Created in 2005 and launched in Southwark in 2006, theSeer offers artists and arts organisations, in Southwark and other partner boroughs, their own directory page, newsletters and advertising space for events and opportunities. Supported by the Arts Council, the ultimate objective is to have all the London borough's supporting a comprehensive site that reflects and promotes the vast wealth of talent and diversity that exists in the capital.
The  Directory can be searched by art form or locality and alphabetically. So you can find a particular artist, or artists and organisations who are working in Southwark or the practitioners in a particular artform. These include visual or performance arts, poetry and literature, music, new media, arts production, training, management or curation.
The What's On and Opportunities sections are ready made advertising platforms, with easy to use formats and an almost instant presence on the internet. The News section also raises artists' and organisations' profiles by enabling them to celebrate their successes and share their news with the artistic community in London and the wider public, across the internet.

If you decide to use theSeer, there are three parts to consider signing up for
- The Register - Where you can enter details about you, your local council's arts service and/or your organisation for administrative purposes. Also to be able to have a Directory entry, use the What's On or Opportunities services you need to complete this section.
- The Directory - Allows you to enter the information you want to be seen by the public. To ensure that your information is seen on theseer website, completing this section is essential. You can also include photographs of your work.
- Newsletters - You can sign up to have newsletters emailed to you, which can be chosen by artforms, locality and frequency. You can sign up for newsletters without registering.
Each of the partner boroughs promotes and supports the site in their area. In Southwark, the arts team can offer support to new and established registrants to ensure that they get the best out of the site.
