Borough Music School

Offers individual and group instrumental teaching to children (mainly of primary age) at subsidised cost, targeting families whose children would benefit but whose parents cannot afford private fees. It currently offers individual lessons in keyboard, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, guitar and trumpet, and group lessons in a number of instruments.

British Youth Opera

Trains and develops emerging operatic talent, specifically young singers aged 20 – 30, on the verge of their professional career. It provides instruction, coaching and advice for singers, instrumentalists, conductors, directors and production staff. Pembroke Academy provides 8 to 16 year olds in the Walworth area with intensive instrumental and vocal tuition, aimed at developing their talents and increasing opportunities for musical education and performance. Chorus Mundi 

Performs a range of music at venues around London, the UK and the world. Chorus Mundi comprises a selection of experienced singers drawn from choirs throughout Britain. You will need to do a simple voice test before joining, and need some choral experience and reasonable sight-reading ability.

National Association of Choirs

South London Chorus

South London Chorus is the performing name of the Dulwich Choral Society.
The choir has about 90 singers, performing at least three concerts a year with professional orchestras and soloists. Auditions are held throughout the year.

The Dulwich Symphony Orchestra

An amateur orchestra with a professional conductor and leader. The players have a wide variety of experience and abilities, regular rehearsals are held so that members can develop their orchestral skills and knowledge.

London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO)

The LPO is the resident symphony orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, as well as at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in the summer. National Youth Orchestra

The National Youth Orchestra gives talented young musicians the chance to work with some of the top conductors in the world and play in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the UK. To be eligible to join you must be under 18 on 1 September in the year you apply and play an orchestral instrument to Grade 8 distinction standard although you do not have to have taken any exams.

Southwark Consorts of Winds
