London Festival of Architecture 2008

London Festival of Architecture
June 20 to July 20 2008

The theme for the London festival of architecture is 'Fresh'. The Mayor, Design for London, local authorities, leading architects, major developers, officers and members have come together for this dynamic London wide festival of architecture.

Through exhibitions, walks, talks, interventions, installations and more, the festival will explore architecture across five London hubs.

  • Southwark and South Bank
  • Kensington and Chelsea
  • Canary Wharf, Stratford and Thames Gateway
  • Kings Cross, Bloomsbury, Fitzrovia and Covent Garden
  • Clerkenwell and the City of London Hub

Southwark Exhibition of the Faraday Memorial

Southwark and South Bank
July 9 to July 14 2008

The celebration of architecture in Southwark will start with the Mayor's reception at London's living room, City Hall.

Southwark and South Bank architecture will be explored with an ongoing programme of exhibitions and events that will recognise the rebirth of the South Bank, the expansion of the cultural quarter, and also bring together the cultural organisations along the South Bank. Debates on the regeneration of Elephant and Castle will give an insight into the changing face of architecture within Southwark, and an urban treasure hunt will discover hidden streets in Elephant and Castle and venture deep into Southwark.
